The Corporation of the Township of Georgian Bluffs ("Municipality") is in the process of selecting an Insurer to provide insurance and risk management services in the areas contained within this Request for Proposal.

Through this Request for Proposal, the Municipality seeks to:

·  Specify the terms and conditions that would govern any resulting policy

·  Select the successful proponent, if any

This Request for Proposal states the instructions for submitting proposals, and the procedures and criteria by which the successful proponent will be selected. The Municipality will not necessarily accept the lowest price on any proposal.  Any implication that the lowest price or any proposal will be accepted is hereby expressly negated.

The General Insurance and Risk Management Services Program will be selected based upon evaluation criteria developed by the Municipality which in its sole discretion will determine the manner in which each response to this Request for Proposal meets the evaluation criteria.

The Township has contracted the assistance of their current broker, Nicol Insurance, to assist them with this process. Nicol Insurance has agreed to provide a thorough review of all proposals, provide coverage-based analysis and an impartial opinion based on proposals presented. Furthermore, all applicants agree that should their proposal be accepted, The Township of Georgian Bluffs wishes to maintain their relationship with Nicol Insurance and therefore wish to continue to work with them as their broker of record or on a fee for service arrangement (in the event that the applicant does not work with brokers in Ontario).
